Get an Xbox One S for $189 on Black Friday

Microsoft's Xbox One S is getting a big discount for Black Friday.

Beginning Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 23), you'll be able to snag an Xbox One S starting at just $189, its lowest price ever, Xbox Live's "Major Nelson," Larry Hryb announced Monday. The bundle deal includes a 500GB console and Xbox Wireless Controller, a free game of your choice, plus a one-month Xbox Game Pass trial and a 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial. The deal will be available through Cyber Monday (Nov. 27) via the Microsoft Store and participating retailers, including Target.

Plus, games like Forza Motorsport 7, Gears of War 4, Halo Wars 2, and Forza Horizon 3 will be $20 off from Nov. 23 through Nov. 27. Family-friendly favorites like Super Lucky's Tale, Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection, Disneyland Adventures, and Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure will be 35 percent off.

The Xbox One S earned an "excellent" rating in PCMag's review, nabbing props for its smaller footprint compared to the Xbox One, support for Ultra HD Blu-ray discs, and redesigned gamepad.

PlayStation fans will also be able to find some excellent deals this Black Friday. The standard slim 1TB PS4 will be available for $199.99 from Nov. 19 through Nov. 27 via participating retailers, Sony announced last week. Walmart is advertising that deal as part of its Black Friday promotion. Word has it Costco is planning to undercut that deal by $10, offering the same console for $189.99.
