The wait for Apple's tenth-anniversary iPhone is almost over.
Apple just announced it will start taking pre-orders for the iPhone X this Friday at 12:01 PDT. If you're hoping to get your hands on the iPhone X right away, you better be online the minute pre-orders start, because word has it supplies of the new handset will initially be extremely limited. The Cupertino tech giant will be taking pre-orders on its website and the Apple Store app.
The iPhone X officially launches a week after pre-orders kick off, on Friday. Nov. 3 at 8am local time in more than 55 countries and territories. If you plan to get one at an Apple Store on launch day, you might want to consider camping out, or at least getting there super early.
"Stores will have iPhone X available for walk-in customers, who are encouraged to arrive early," Apple wrote in a news release
The iPhone X starts at $999, making it Apple's most expensive phone ever. It features an all-screen design with no home button, newly stabilized dual cameras to perform better in low light, and facial-recognition technology called Face ID. PCMag got to spend some time with the iPhone X last month and came away optimistic about future applications for the new camera system.

"Many customers have obviously decided that they would prefer to sell the iPhone 8 while its value is at its highest…and put the money towards the new iPhone X," Decluttr.com CMO Liam Howley said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is predicting that Apple will not be able to meet demand for the iPhone X until mid-2018, according to MacRumors. The analyst reportedly said the phone will be in "severe short supply" for some time, since Apple can only make around 10,000 of them a day.
