Most of us probably have fond memories of sitting around the living room with friends and/or family playing Pictionary. Now, the classic draw-and-guess board game is getting a revamp for the digital age.
Five years after the Draw Something craze of 2012, social games developer Etermax in collaboration with Mattel on Thursday launched the first official mobile version of Pictionary. The app lets you play two-on-two matches in real time, or one-on-one with a friend.
It offers thousands of words you can draw, divided into four categories: "person, place, animal," "object," "action" (like "look sideways"), and "difficult." You can make guesses in real-time as you see what your partners and opponents are drawing.
Players have access to a variety of drawing tools that "get better as you win," according to a news release. That includes a pencil, paintbrush, crayon, pen, highlighter, and eraser. The app also features a Feed section where you can get inspiration from your friends' drawings.

"We are very proud to have joined this Pictionary challenge and to take it to the next level," Etermax CEO Maximo Cavazzani said in a statement. "We have managed to merge two platforms — real and mobile — to create a game that will capture the attention of families around the world."
Etermax is also the studio behind games like Trivia Crack and Aworded Crack.
The new Pictionary app is launching today on iOS, Android, and Amazon Kindle Fire. It's free to download and you can play in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Dutch, Turkish, or Russian.
