Quote from the article:
“According to data from analytics site Coinlib, the price of XRP has dropped 51 percent since the beginning of the year…Close behind XRP is Bitcoin Cash (BCH), which has lost around 49 percent of its value.”
The author didn’t use the charts correctly. He’s quoting the performance of the 13 months from Nov 1, 2018 to Dec 3, 2019 and trying to tell us those are YTD results. That is incorrect.
If we compare the past 13 months: https://coinlib.io/compare/2018-11-01/2019-12-03/XRP/BCH

If we compare the past 52 weeks: https://coinlib.io/compare/2018-12-03/2019-12-03/XRP/BCH
If we compare Year-To-Date which is what he is trying to write about in the article: https://coinlib.io/compare/2018-12-31/2019-12-03/XRP/BCH
YES, XLM has done worse but the author didn’t specify what he meant by comparing the “major” cryptocurrencies. Maybe he is just comparing the top 5 or 6.
